NairoBits is a Digital Design School that provides education to the Nairobi slum youth. They put digital tools of expression in the hands of the youth who have the creativity but not the means to express themselves. These youth in turn act as multipliers to the organisation that they partner with.

CMETrust

It is a volunteer-run, non-profit charitable trust that was established in 2006 to raise funds to create scholarships for students from Mathare Slums. Their main aim is to advance education in Kenya, one child at a time and to raise awareness in Canada about education and poverty in urban Kenya.

Valley View Academy
A non-formal primary school whose mission is to reach the young boys and girls who are at risk of being involved in child labour, early marriages, drug abuse, and crime and offer them the tools for their own development.
Action Beyond Limits

ABL is a network of Kenyans and Germans, who have joined together to find alternative ways of living together and to influence the design of our living spaces. ABL wants to achieve a better understanding of each other within and between various societies around the world.
Mathare Roots Youth Group is the Kenyan member of ABL while the German Group is an open cooperation of students, post grads and young professionals who are involved in Social and (Inter-) Cultural activities.

MCEDO (Mathare Children Educational Development Organization) Beijing

MCEDO Beijing is a non-formal school which was founded by peers from the community who had some teaching background in 2000. The idea was arrived at after observing keenly that there were very many OVC (Orphaned and Vulnerable Children) in the Mathare Slums and they saw a need to not only offer free or affordable education to them but to also offer food, counselling and at times shelter.
